Description:

Becoming Before Guiding is a monthly parenting circle rooted in the values of Tarbiyah (intentional nurturing of the soul) and Akhlaq (character and virtue). Inspired by the mission of the Elevate Adolescence Programs (EAP) Initiative, this series invites parents to begin the sacred work of parenting by first returning to themselves.

Each session explores how emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and value-based living prepare us to be the kind of adults our children can look up to, learn from, and lean on. Just as we ask our children to rise strong, this is our invitation as parents to be anchored in self-reflection and rise with intention.

Objectives:

● To explore personal growth as the foundation for effective and intentional parenting

● To connect Tarbiyah and Akhlaq to everyday parenting decisions

● To cultivate emotional and social intelligence in the home through modeling

● To create a parent-led community of character-centered mentorship and leadership

Key Themes:

● Self-awareness as a tool of parenting

● Tarbiyah of the nafs (soul) as an ongoing adult journey

● Modeling emotional regulation and humility

● The Prophet Muhammadصلى الله عليه وسلمas a model of Akhlaq in parenting
